I teach high school introduction to programming. This books gets students up and running programming Scratch at their own pace in not time. Students learn from basic character (sprite) control to more advanced gaming concepts. We use this book for the first 2-3 weeks to give students confidence in computer programming before we transition out of scratch and into more advanced material. Still Scratch, Used in some MIT courses as I understand can be very powerful.The author's generous offer for classroom teachers to make a class set is more than beats industry standards and it is greatly appreciated, especially as teachers we often buy own material. The printed book came out blurry for some reason so I think the publisher can improve, this seems no fault of the author or the content of the book. Still, the author is quick to send electronic versions which is what I needed anyways to distribute to class.

I teach Scratch in after-school and summer programs. This book is great for anyone of any age who wants to learn how to program in scratch.
I don't usually write review on my book purchase. I am compel to write something for this one. I got my son this book for $25. It is way overpriced for the material that its presented. This book has only 30 pages. If you do some googling, you will find the similar tutorials and guide online. The presentation of the book looks like some college term paper... a bad one too. Has my son not written stuff on it, I would have returned the book.
I bought this for my grandson, but found out after it was received that it was an instructor's book...not at all what I had expected. If this was covered in the description, I missed it.
